What's New:
-April 9, 2008-
I guess I'd better put something new on the What's New page. I hope the fact that I haven't updated this page in almost a year is a reflection of how busy I've been with Network211. Truth be told there has been a lot of wonderful things happening and a very sad thing that has happened. We are getting ready to launch the evangelism follow-up system 121 connections with Network211. Lear more about 121 connections at Project10Million.com. We are also working on a new evangelism project that presents a relationship with Jesus and the body of believers as a solution for the emotional needs of many people.
Now for the sad news. Rachel and I had not shared with very many people about our anticipated addition to our family. Saddly, on March 17, 2008, we lost our precious daughter, Grace Kathryn Dell, before we even got to know her. We have been blessed by the generous out-pouring of love and compassion from friends and family. It will take a long time for us to fully recover from this heart breaking event. Please keep us in your prayers. Please look for upcoming information about a memorial fund we are creating for Grace.

Hey Taxes are DUE!!! Hope you didn't have to pay too much. If you got a return, why not invest it in the Kingdom? The Bible says in James 4:2 says "You do not have because you do not ask." So I'm asking. Seriously, please prayerfully consider supporting our ministry to touch the world with the Gospel through the Internet and Technology. Speaking of technology and support, if you want to receive a great piece of technology, I'm giving away Video MP3 players to new supporters. If you don't want to buy one yourself from the link below, you can receive one Free. Read my Spring Newsletter to find out more.

I can't believe how busy things have been the past 2 months. Rachel and I enjoyed a relaxing time in Oregon with my Parents over the holidays. It is so wonderful to get to be with family and celebrate the birth of our Lord. One of the interesting things that happened on the trip was the untimely death of my laptop. As we returned from Oregon we were sitting in the airport waiting for our flight. I went to turn on my laptop but nothing happened. When we got home we had it checked out and discovered that the motherboard was cracked and had to be replaced. Thank God for extended warrantees! I did not have to pay any money for the repair, but was without my trusty laptop for a little over 2 weeks. Luckly I had backed up my work shortly before the holiday and was able to continue working from that until my computer was repaired.
Now if you are wondering why I have an advertisement to the right, let me explain. In our search for promotional items for Network 211, we found a web site that sells video MP3 players at a great price. So for all you people like me that don't own a MP3 player because they cost too much, you can now purchase a video and MP3 player for next to nothing. I am eagerly waiting for my player that will allow me to show the Network 211 video
to anyone, anytime. So if you don't have one already, check it out. If you get one make sure you subscribe to my podcast, the podcast from my church and the Network 211 podcast.

If you are received our newsletter and are visiting our site for the first time, welcome! It always seems like such a big deal to get a newsletter done. Fortunately the new graphics and layout worked well with the newsletter. If you did not receive the newsletter by mail you can view our online version from the About Us menu or from any of the newsletter links.
Good news, Peter's back pain is getting better. Three weeks ago Peter strained his back after making good progress the previous month at the Chiropractor. Thank you to all those who have been praying for Peter's back as mentioned in our Support Us Spiritually prayer requests. Also please keep praying for our finances. We will be working hard this spring to bring our support level up. If we can get enough support, it will help us transition to fully appointed missionaries in the next few year. Thanks again for all your prayers and support.

I can't believe it! I got the new site up. What do you think? I wanted to update the site to give it a new look, better navigation, more content. I've added a bunch of content from www.network211source.com the content syndication tool for network211. If you like what you see, you can go there and get FREE Christian content for your site. Take some time to look through the resources and the entertainment. There are lots of cool games and videos. I have changed my podcast server, so if you subscribed to my podcast previously you will need to update your subscription. Unfortunately I haven't had time to make a new podcast in a long time, so until I take the time to do that you will have to deal the the old episodes. If you like you can also check out my blog at www.xanga.com/techmissionary It will be interesting to see which get more attention, the web site or the blog. If you like the new site, visit the blog and leave me a comment on it. God bless... until next time.

You guessed it. I've been so busy that I have neglected this site. What a major bummer! I know I need to let you all know about the wonderful things happening in my life and yet my site remained untouched. My biggest news, that I should have told you about months ago... I am a Licensed Minister with the Assemblies of God! WOW, what a great feeling to get past this first big hurdle.
Also if you are wondering what this funny looking guy is on the right. This is my Zwinky character... looks a little like me don't you think? If you visit the site, I just liked making a character in my likeness. I don't chat or participate in the other Zwinky activities.
Other significant events in the past few months... hum... well I've been extremely busy working on projects with Network 211 and we've continued to be very active at my church, North Point. Rachel and I started a small group called MIT (Ministry In Technology) to help people learn how to use technology, especially internet technology, to further the Kingdom of God. We have been meeting now for about a month and are very excited about the results. It will be interesting to see what God can do through this group. Well, I had better get back to all the projects that never seem to end. God Bless

Who knew time could fly by so fast! So much has happened since my last entry. I am happy to report that God has supplied an almost 10% of our budget as a direct result of the trip to the Northwest. We are so thankful for the support we've gained, both financially and spiritually. We currently have about 20% of our budget raised from friends, family, and churches. If you would like to support our ministry please click on the support us link.
On May 1st, Rachel and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. We celebrated with a weekend trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It was very relaxing, and we enjoyed walking around the down town area. Taking pictures of the old buildings and unique features of the town kept me entertained as Rachel browsed through the various shops. A highlight of the trip for me was the rail road museum. My brothers interest in steam locomotives added to my curiosity as I wandered through the collections taking pictures of the unique elements of the past.
May passed by in a hurry. Rachel finished her first year teaching 3rd grade at New Covenant Academy. It seemed like there just wasn't enough time to finish all the little projects and complete the extra work I took on.
This past weekend, June 3rd, we had a party at our house for Rachel's students and their families. It was a great way to send off her beloved 3rd graders into 4th grade and to celebrate the Summer break. We had about 40 parents and children attend, making it one of the biggest and craziest gatherings we have had at our house. Hopefully this will be the first of several fun gatherings at our home this summer.
Network 211 is moving forward and engaging in our newest project. June 17th we will have our first e-ministry seminar in Dallas, Texas. We will have sessions for pastors on using technology to increase ministry potentials. We will cover everything from building web sites, using Source to fill web sites with valuable content, effective uses of email, and other sessions dealing with various forms of technology and how they can be used for ministry.

It's the day before taxes are due... Hope your's are done :) I am safely back in Springfield, MO after my busy week in the Northwest. The picture on the left was taken at Northwest University. On the left is Scott Schoenborn, Missionary to Japan and Network 211. In the middle is my mom, Jann Dell, all around great mom and wonderful ministry resource! On the right is... me. Let me tell you just some of the wonderful things that happened on this trip.
The day after I arrived, we drove to Seattle. Our first meeting was with Missionary Renewal Asia Pacific. It was a wonderful opportunity to share with them about how Network 211 can help them make their web site better. Additionally, we talked about ways to produce their materials online. It will be great to see their ministry become fully equipped online and for the possibility of distributing their materials though Network211source.com. God did an amazing thing while we were there. Our meeting was bumped up in time to accommodate a meeting shortly after. By God's divine appointment, the District Superintendent for the Northwest District of the Assemblies of God came early for the meeting after us. This gave us the opportunity to share Network 211 with a man that I would not have been able to meet with in my own powers. Best part about the meeting is He is eager to learn more about improving their district web site with resources from Network211. Praise God!
After our meeting at MRAP, we met my second cousin, Steve Gage, for a tour of Northwest University. He is an alum with a variety of ministry experience. Currently he is writing discipleship materials based on Jesus' instruction to make disciple and teach them all He had taught. It is amazing how many people don't really know what Jesus taught during his ministry on earth. I know I could use some time revisiting Christ's sermons. I am hopeful upon completion of Steve's project, that it can be distributed through Network211source.com.
On Friday, before we returned to Portland, we had the opportunity to meet with D.V. Hurst, former President of Northwest University. It was an amazing time, learning about the various ways God was able to use his life. Additionally, we discussed the need for a Post Graduate Scholarship Fund for those going into the ministry. Too many graduating students cannot afford to go into the ministry because of their student loans. I am one of those students who struggle with paying off student loans while serving in the ministry. Luckily, with Rachel teaching, we can make ends meet.
The Post Graduation Scholarship Fund would provide funds to pay a Student's monthly loan payment while they are in full-time ministry. Sadly, there is not such a fund available, due to past problems with integrity and fraud. Hopefully, we can establish a scholarship that meets the need and also has accountability to prevent misuse. Paying only the monthly payments encourages students to continue their ministry activity, while lifting some of the burden of the financial stress. Another suggestion was for the scholarship funds to be available only for tuition reimbursement. Whatever the case may be, this Scholarship should be created. Please pray for its development and implementation.
Friday night and Saturday night I had the opportunity to meet with some of my parents friends and writers working with Network 211. It was a great opportunity to share about what God is doing through Network 211. I had a great time meeting some of the people who write many of the great articles in our database for Network211source.com.
Sunday, I had the privilege to be interviewed in both services at Portland Christian Center. It was wonderful to get to share my story and ministry with my parent's church. So many of their friends have heard about what I'm doing. It was nice I could tell them from my mouth what being an Internet Missionary is all about. It was so encouraging to see other people understand what a mission field the online community is.
Sunday afternoon we visited Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. It was a site to see their over 160 different varieties of tulips planted over 40 acres. That was a photographer's paradise. I took way too many pictures. Then again, can one take too many pictures? If I put up an album of the pictures you can see more than just this pretty one.
That evening we got to visit Scott's family. It was so much fun to see his five children, including his quadruplets. Seeing Scott with his kids and playing with them myself, I have a new appreciation for all that Scott does. He even offered to let me baby sit them when Rachel can visit too. Uh... thanks I think??!!?!?
Monday, I got to share at the bible study my dad attends at his work. It was neat to see a bunch of engineers perspective on my ministry.
Tuesday was a full day. I met with PCC's tech guys, had lunch with one of my mom's good friends, and rounded out the day meeting with Asian Outreach. It was a good full last day with a lot of great contacts. I was completely exhausted from the weeks worth of activity.
Wednesday, I woke up early to go to a Men's breakfast with my Dad. After the breakfast I had a small meeting with We Care Oregon. Again it was great to see what possibilities there are for partnership between Network 211 and other great ministries to improve ministry online. After the meeting, I headed to the airport and headed home. Wow... I'm now just starting to recover... sort of. If you made it to this point... thanks for reading! Please continue to be in prayer for the continued relationships with all the people and ministries I made contact with this week.

Well I've arrived safely in Portland, OR. I made the journey across the country from Springfield, MO to visit my parents and to share with some churches and ministries about my ministry and the ministry to Network 211. I am looking forward to tonight's service. It will be the first time to speak about my ministry and missions efforts on my own. I had a great opportunity in September to travel with Dr. George Flattery, President of Network 211, to Florida presenting Network 211 to pastors and churches. I am very thankful for all the people praying for me, especially this week. I know God will do amazing things beyond my expectations. I will try to keep this page updated to inform you of the event as they unfold.

Recently we finished the Podcasting information on Network 211. This has been an especially important project for me. In my research, I found there was very little information on actually publishing a podcast. I know what a powerful tool this can be and the potential this has for ministries. If you or a ministry you are involved in can benefit from Podcasting, I encourage you to read about it. (Network 211 Podcasting)

In other news, I will be traveling throughout the Northwest. I will have the opportunity to visit my parents in Portland, OR, and present Network 211 to churches and ministries throughout Oregon and Washington. |
